Flicking through threads here, I noticed that 1 year ago TWG 1 was underway here on Castle Doom.

I didn't join until TWG 4, so I can't really say much about it... but it seemed a shame to let the first "birthday" pass without any comment at all

A year already?

Things certainly have changes. This area was all woods as far as the eye could see. Old Man Peabody had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees.

Yeah I should have known TWG 1 was close considering like all of us Earth players that joined cause of Muji joined when it started, least a lot of us.

A whole year.

Who would have thunk it?

This time last year I was badgering the staff to come up with ideas to expand this place. Brf, tells me about this and I'm going along because I was at wits end for ideas. I didn't give it much of a prayer, honestly.

It almost went belly up a couple times last year as well.

But it survived and became popular enough by the efforts of a handful of hardcore players willing to run games with merely a few players. Those of you who have a dozen games under your belt are the reason it survived and flourished.

Additionally, it was Brf coming up with all the bells and whistles that allow us to make it easy to GM the games, and Darkness being a recruiting demon outside the site.

I've got a special honor for Darkness that she'll see the next time she shows up here.

Let's just say she will have a bit more say-so in how things happen here.

It's a quote from Back to the future. Marty and Dr. Brown are at the Twin Pines Mall, and Dr. Brown is thinking about the past.

Here I was thinking about the song "Paradise"... Daddy, won't you take me back to Muehlenburg County, down by the Green River where Paradise lay... I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking, Mr. Peabody's coal train has hauled it away...
