Ok, I'm not seeing a lot of reviews in this board.
You are either reading lousy books or not reading enough.
Fix that, ok?
Besides letting the others get some free reviews, I'd like to see us all reading a bit more. TV, games, and the internet have a bad habit of supplanting good old book reading for information and entertainment consumption, but they don't give the depth needed to expand your vocabulary or make you stop and think a bit.
Read books and write here. Make your old kindergarten teacher proud of the way you grew up. |

| ~a small voice comes from behind the sofa~ I rarely come down here, for some reason I thought it was for things with a military bent. Are books of any genre allowed? I recently bought some Terry Prachett books and The Da Vinci Code, and a friend sent me the Narnia series. Would those be ok? I promise that I won't review any of my secret vices -- bodice-rippers and other Harlequin-type romances. |

| I have always meant to read Discwork, and have glanced at the Narnia books... Most of my collection is Piers Anthony, though... with a splash of Asprin, and a little Baer. |

Look at the threads, Nibby. There are plenty of non-military books mentioned. You just see military threads because it's what I read a lot. And while I don't think that romance novels would attract much of a following here, there is no rule about not discussing them. Though you might wish to limit the topic to a single thread until you find a member with the same interest. |

NIbby mentioned Terry Patchett, which is why I mentioned Ringworld. Terry Patchett is another one of the SciFi/Fantasy writers.
I also mentioned The Stars my Destination up in the Bike thread, and nobody replied to it. |

So they don't reply. No biggie.
Not everyone gets interested in all the stuff I read either.
But the reviews will help someone find a book if they can't find anything interesting at the store.
Seems like half the time I wander into the bookstore I find nothing new from my current stable of authors. That's when I let Amazon give me their suggestion list or I peruse the SciFi bookclub site. But that's still hit or miss.
A review might just languish here for a while before someone needs a suggestion. But it will be handy when the time comes around. |

You aren't flooding the forum if you give a detailed review that others could use to decide whether to buy a book.
Quantity is fine if the quality is there. |

I don't read a lot, especially not english literature.
I have bought The Chronicles of Narnia in english though, and The Da Vinci Code too. I haven't gotten to reading them yet, however :P
I could list my studybooks, but I doubt anyone is waiting for those :P |
