Just read The Clone Republic by Steven L. Kent.
Has nothing to do with Star Wars, btw.
Seems this is his first big military scifi book coming out. Story is top notch for the genre and the book is certainly prepped as the initial book in a series by him on space Marines, that just happen to be clone born. He develops the main character well and doesn't get sidetracked down multiple plotlines. He gets good outside advice on the Marine mystique as well.
Definitely worth the paperback price.
I'm eagerly anticipating the next book by him. |
