I've got a decent grasp on HTML (not enough to design a website from scratch, enough to get me by), BUT Ive never figured out how to post a link that displays words instead of the actual adress
confused by the last part? Thats the best way I can describe it though. For an example, look at coojoes sigs |

I don't know jack about doing it in HTML, but I know how to code it here.
When you see that [url ] bracket you simply put the word between the two brackets.
Then to make the link work, you insert an = and the addy after the first url device.
I'll do one here using a ( instead of a [.
(url=www.amazon.com)Books(/url)
All you would see is the word Books and it would send you to Amazon.
Same goes for an image link. You put an = and location addy after the first Img and put an image addy in between the code brackets. |

I might not have any proper training or exceptional skill at webcraft, but I've slowly acquired tidbits over the years through trial and error. Then I just commit it to rote memory.
For everything else, there's Brf. |

| Actually, you were asking about "BBCode", not HTML. As Exarkun discovered, putting HTML in your message will not work. If you are uncertain how to use BBCode, hold your mouse over the buttons just above the Reply text box. Each button will tell how it is used, as well as its shortcut. |
