Holy crap! It's not even summer and it's time to award the nerd Oscar of the year!
This movie is shockingly good!
Remember seeing the Matrix the first time on the big screen? Or if you are old enough then the Terminator the first time? Star Wars anyone?
Yeah, I'm going back there, but when they first came out they floored the audience. Sure the scifi effects were amazing, but it was the well crafted story that was riveting and made sense that really brought it all together.
Those movies all had an intricate and long plot line that had to be honored. Problem can be if the director can't hold it all together and goes too far into the story at the expense of the movie flow, ala The Hulk.
Fortunately the director held his nose to the grindstone, kept the story inside the action, and kept the action going long enough to finish the story.
On the other hand there is one downside that some might not like. The movie is 2.5 hours long. Brutal if you rush that big soda! But the movie doesn't drag or feel stretched out. The movie is its natural length. Just be ready for a long sit when you get there.
This isn't a DVD rental movie unless you have a big fat wall plasma. It was made for the big screen. Don't like movie prices today then go catch it at a matinee price.
