As long as we're discussing superhero movies ....

Just saw this one today, and kind of enjoyed it.

Rather than connecting much with the last one from 3 or 4 years ago, this one builds off of the 70's tv show. We see the TV show origin in fast forward flash back as part of the opening credits, and it follows the Bill Bixby hiding while trying to figure out a cure type of storyline.

It makes occasional use of the old theme music, and mangles a well known line from the old series. (Banner is hiding out in Brasil or somewhere, trying to master a new language, and doesn't get it quite perfect ... "Don't make me ... hungry. You wouoldn't like me when I'm hungry.")

You also get a brief cameo of Lou Ferrigno as a security guard. For some reason everybody in the theater is calling him Bill Bixby. Anyone who remembers Bixby knows he isn't hard to tell apart from Ferrigno.

The story uses a lower power-level Hulk ... more powerful than the television show, but still ramped down a fair amount from the last movie. While that one was closer to the comic, which has a Hulk who is almost Superman, I actually find the character more appealing being a little less strong, so this one was more fun for me.

Anyone else see it? What do you thik of it?

I loved the show, and used to collect the comic book (hush!). I wasn't too keen on the previous movie, I think it was the over-emphasis on that old guy (I should know the actor's name but it's escaping me and I don't care enough to hit IMDB to find out), I kept wondering why we had his story in there, too.

I had a crush on Lou Ferrigno, it'll be good to see him again, even if it's more a wink cameo.

Actually, doing a little research after I posted this, it looks like Lou also provides the voice for Hulk. He doesn't say much, but we do get a few grunts, and the very popular "Hulk Smash!"

And for somebody who has to be at least in his 50s, if not approaching his 60s, he still looks to be in absolutely fabulous shape.

And hey ... I used to collect comics, and I will again, someday, when the finances can better handle it ... what's wrong with collecting comics!?

bought the blu ray of this, and just loved it. Like all the little hints for an avenger movie and such. Overall I'd say it was on the same level of quality as the new Iron Man.
