| How is it and is it worth the thousand plus pages? I've heard many things about this book, some good, some bad, and it has me curious |

I thought we already had a topic on this... Huh, I don't find it now.
From what I've read of the book (a few pages) and what I've read about it, it sounds boring as heck to me. But that's me. |

I thought so too but I just went through the entire cistern (plus the other literature page) and didn't notice a topic on it...
...What I did notice was the glut of TWG topics and wondered why we don't add to it more :cheesy: |

Answer: It's a good book and a great political philosophy.
However, as Broomdalf said to me, so I pass this advice on to you: There is a 50 page radio speech towards the end of the book (you'll know it when you see it). SKIP IT and read it when you're done with the book. While a good speech on the tenents of Objectivism, it's boring as hell when you're actually concerned with the PLOT.

Yep, its a great book and a roaring story with the lesson woven in, but I was the one who originally warned Broomdalf about the radio speech years ago.
It's like a repetitive manifesto of the overall concept. If you've been reading the book then you get nothing but irritation from reading the speech. You miss none of the action by skipping it. |

Wow...the advice has been passed down, I see. I've given that advice out to at least a dozen first-time Rand readers. Who knows how far it will go from there?
