I am broomdalf, one of the eternal lurkers here that's been here forever, and was at the same forums as the other people prior (minus that Pharaoh one), still lurking. I was Marlow at one point to some of the people here.
I am a Freshman/Sophomore Chemical Engineering student at some amazing school for engineering in Indiana, some 8-9 hours from my home in Minnesota.
I like fencing, thinking, and some other things. I used to play Runescape, where I am rich. I brought crispybacon to Runescape, here, and brewing.
Cheese is an integral part of my life. |

Hmm, suppose I should maybe update this at some point or other.
So, at the moment, I'm working at a camp of sorts, away from the "computing bears" that I typically access this place from. Someday, somebody might have to come up here and coerce me into posting more, given that I was at the height of my posting fervor around 4-5 years ago. Just don't often thing of much to say that is worth saying to the perhaps dozen or two people that could, and just might, happen to read. Although the two ears and one mouth saying doesn't really make sense for written (electronic?) text, it still quite often seems to apply...
I like brewing various things when I manage to get the time to do such. Am currently aging 3 batches of mead, and waiting for a joint batch of beer with some friends to finish carbonating.
and have been trying to study German, in hopes of studying Germany in 3/4-5/4 of a year.
I swear, for a short period of time here, my posts were coherant, although I think that was mostly during that long period of time in which I barely did such "posting". |

Maybe one of these days I'll stop lurking and stick around for a little while to, you know, actually post or something.
As much time as I may end up having freed up from my exile from a certain Java MMORPG that certain other forum members have indulged in/do, one wonders if that can actually bring me in...
Still drudging through the light and easy workload of my Chem E majoring, while simultaneously struggling to pick up German so that I, maybe, actually know the language when I go over there.
I built a couch fort over break... |

Haven't updated this in a while, so:
Studied in Magdeburg for the last several months (since April began) on an exchange program, being in an integral part of East German rot, but it wasn't too bad once I got used to it; am glad I came.
Did most of my finals and passed well enough. Except the one I slept through. Have to make that one up, interrupting my vacation.
Well, I'm traveling through Europe now. Saw a cow giving birth not too long ago. Currently going through Germany with my parents and some extended family. We'll be picking up my ladyfriend soon, who will be flying in to travel with us through Germany a bit more.
After my parents leave, we'll be looping through (hopefully) Luxembourg, France, Italy, one or more of: (Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland), then back into Eastern Germany to leave back to the US. I remember JJ recommending Northern Italy, if anybody else has good suggestions I'm open. We will have free rail travel through most of Europe for most of this period.
Soon, back to the more intensive American schooling. |

Wow, I haven't updated this forever. Anyways, stuck back in Indiana. Overthrew the president of fencing club by way of a coup a little while back, but he doesn't seem to realize that he doesn't have any power anymore. Oh well, he was somewhat of a figurehead to begin with...
Hopefully 1 more year before the big money. |

| Still lurking. Can't think of much to say. I'm currently working a real job, one of those things that requires effort and pays out money, which takes up most of my time. Moved to Wisconsin, which is a refreshing more-like-home location than Indiana. Should really post more. |
