Well like clockwork a new game of the genere is out, and it is very intresting. Anyone who has played and loved FF games over the years will be taken aback, I got it not knowing what to think, but so far it has been a very nice suprise.

The game takes away from many aspects of FF, like no more stop go fighting where you get stoped midway to where your going to fight, all enemies you see from a distance, and can decide wether to fight or not.

Added a gambit system which is much like football playbook where you pick your plays in what you think your enemy will do and let your other charecters handle them the way you tell them, slightly hard at first to handle but it is fun once you get a handle on it.

The story itself is diffrent, doesn't really look like a FF game, sort of a european / arab feel, which isn't inherintly bad, but if your die hard FF and love the style of VII, VIII, IX, X ect it won't be exactly like that, but it still looks beautiful.

Overall it has been intresting, good story, though long intro (nearly an hour or two intro of just cut scenes and minor battles, not exactly a kick off right at the bat game, but it sets up a really good story line). I'm only about 10 hours in, 2 being just setting up the story, but it's been fun.

I've played FFX and FFX-2. I haven't gotten through both. I keep getting stopped in Bevelle temple with that dang platform maze inside in FFX. I like the storylines and general feel of FFX and FFX-2. The artwork is simply beautiful. I know that the combat system of FFX-2, with its real-time combat, is different but it is fun.

Now, I know nothing of Final Fantasy 12. But seeing as how I like the feel of FFX and FFX-2 do you think I should go for FF12 or take a step back and find FF9? I've played Final Fantasy 9 once but that was awhile ago. The two hour span just to get started in FF12 has me wondering if I'd just get bored right from the start.

What I'm asking is do you think FF12 is worth the price they want?

While the story set up is a long time, before you even get your main charecter isn't till 2 hours in you will still have some minor battles in the 2 hour story they tell, it may even be and hour.

They have taken a lot out of the style of the old, that isn't bad but it doesn't look or feel like old school FF games. The japanese feel isn't very evident in the game, it looks more like european game like I said.

With that said though it is so far a VERY intresting game with a very good story line, the looks may seem diffrent, and the mechanics, but it plays well, and it involves you into the story.

Think of it as a FF game with a tune up, the main things are there, summons, chocobo's, moogle's, magic ect, they just took them all and made adjustments. The biggest adjustments has to be the fighting, which is no long stop go fighting, you see all the enemies on the battle field and it's your choice to fight them, the way you fight is still similear to older FF, you click attack magic summon and you then have a time bar till the attack works.

Sorry for that big post if anyone read it, was meant to be a comment in another forum... any way what I meant to say here is basicly to re-say after playing some more FF XII, that is getting better and any doubts on the game need to be disolved, it's a very good game.

I've played about every game in the FF series, so eagerly awaiting for this game to hit Europe.

Which will not be too soon, too bad...
