I can't believe in this age of spectacular graphic animation that no one thought of this before.
World War One air combat comes to the big screen in Flyboys.
Vintage biplanes duke it out for your entertainment dollars.
I'm there. 8)

And you should!
I saw it the other night and it was excellent.
Want to know something strange? Other than the awesome air combat, this is a borderline chick-flick!
The storyline is almost a canned style.
James Dean look-a-like hero, down on his luck, sets out for adventure in war. Meets and falls in love with a foriegn girl. Spends most of his time trying to win her heart when he's not out saving the planet. Saves her from the evil enemy in a harrowing escape and wins her heart.
Who cares? This movie is breathtaking! The air combat is awesome and there's LOTS of it.
Drag your girl along and she'll dig the love plot and you'll see a war movie!
It's rare you can drag a girl to a movie and both of you walk out flabergasted.
The teens can go too. The violence is definitely there, but it isn't glorified. The bravery and honor is, however. Noble men doing dangerous deeds for the right reasons.
I even paid full night pricing at $9 a ticket and wasn't sorry I spent that much dinero.
Load up the wagon, dear, we're goin' to town to see the picture show! 8) |

Btw, don't wait for video on this movie. It really needs the big screen with all that ariel footage.
Just go to a matinee if full pricing bothers you.
And did I mention the lion? :P
I'm not telling, but the real live lion really is the icing on the cake.
You will soooooo want to drop Fido off at the pound after the movie and go buy a lion cub for a pet. |

/me sneaks in while waiting on his ADSL to arrive at his new house in hopefully 2-3 weeks :headbang:
I heard it had an overkill in SFX. Nothing bothering you in over the top visuals or was it just right?
